razz That is so pretty.
I used to do a lot of embroidery when I was young. You know. For the "Glory Box" Until I found the paint brush and fabric paints !
However there is something special about embroidery and the many different applications. Every now and then I think I will pull out the cottons, start something and never get it finished.
Cheers

i remember reading once many moons ago, that to machine sew difficult materials, use sheet of soft paper(like we used to have glass or delicate things wrapped in). when the stiching is done the paper just comes away.

Grannystitcher, you are very clever with your embroidery. This piece is lovely.
It is a shame more of the younger generations didn't explore handcrafts more as it is so relaxing. The end results are very satisfying too.
Keep it going.
Cheers

Hello folks, wow Grannystitcher, what beautiful work you do.
I am a patchworker/quilter, knitter and cross stitcher.Haven't tried beading.
Katy, are the paints still available in the shops. i remember "Tri-chem" brand, still have some.
My late mother taught me all of the above crafts and she did hardanger and smocking as well.

Hi Lovable nana.
No, the Katy Buck Fabric paints are not now available. The nearest product would be the Fas brand, available from The Warehouse Stationers as well as other retail outlets.
Not quite the same but with practice shoukd give satisfactory results.
Hope all are well as we roll on into the second month of the year.
razz Have fun.
Cheers
Katy
