As I said when you lock the door you are only keeping honest people out, a determined thief will just break a window. Don't worry about the noise as no one will take any notice 9 times out of 10. But Insurance companies have a thing about keys. If you hid it and it was found and used to burgle you the insurance co will try to wriggle free of paying out. How about leaving one with a friendly neighbour?
