Making your own is a simple job and you have control of what goes on them. The long potatoes are cut through the middle lengthways, turn on to cut side and slice on an angle into wedges. Microwave for a two or three minutes spread out on a plate in batches, just enough to part cook but not soft. Have the oven heated at 180-200. Tip wedges into the roasting dish, on baking paper, optional ,and sprinkle with oil using hands to cover the wedges. Spread out and sprinkle generously with Cajun or All Purpose Seasoning. Turn them over once and bake until crisp and golden.

I do a similar thing with wedges, Joybel, but after microwaving, I put mine in a plastic bag with a little olive oil, paprika, garlic salt, finely chopped parsley and parmesan. Shake them up to coat evenly then empty into a roasting dish, spread into a single layer and bake at 200º, tossing occasionally, for around 25 - 30 mins.

I cut potatoes up into wedges and put them in a plastic bag with 2 teaspoonfuls of olive oil and a sprinkling of salt.

If you want to spice them up go for it!You can buy some lovely savoury salts in the supermarket.

Cook them on a tray lined with baking paper for about 25 minutes (on about 180 degrees).

I also make vegie wegies - which is wedged potatoes, onions, kumara, beetroot, carrot, peeled brocolli stalk, choko, parsnip, swede, radish (and any other type of root vegetable that you want to add).

Put them in a plastic bag and add up to 1 Tablespoonful of oil (depending on how many veges you have made). Salt lightly and bake as above.

If you have some small to medium sized potatoes you can make cuts into them (not cutting them right through) so they will fan out as they cook.

Rub the potato with oil or butter and then bake for up to an hour (depending on the size and amount of spuds you are cooking).

When cooked you simply follow the slice down with your knife to cut delicious baked potato slices (or crisps if you cook them longer). These can accompany any sort of meal.
