i also find kerre woodham very irritating as she drones on in her school marmish way but i like spacey bruce russell as he breezily takes the mickey out the callers without them knowing it.
does anyone remeber a nightime talkback host on Radio Pacific called Rob Pharazyn?
he was amazing but he just vanished off the station in an air of mystery..very good broadcaster and insightful.
wonder where he ended up?

Rob Pharazyn was good. If I remember rightly, I'm sure they said he started his own communications company.
I used to like Radio Pacific but then it suddenly went to mush. Newstalkzb took off and suddenly became the `intelligent' talk back station.
Even with a name change `Pacific' never made it back to the top. It seems to have a lot of celebrities working for it but it's not done them any good.

yes !! I remember Rob Pharazyn ! Cripes theres a blast from the past. I used to work late shift and would always take a while to wind down and listened to him on talkback. Thought he was marvellous until that one night when there was a stand in and they said he wasn't coming back... such a shame as he was one of the best. what did they call him ? the black knight I think it was....that was a few years ago ....!

I really enjoy Leighton Smith on NewstalkZB. The next intelligent host on there is Larry Williams at 4pm.

Bruce Russell can be entertaining as can some of the grave-yard-shift announcers ... but I can't stand Danny Watson or Keri Woodham.
Pat Brittenden used to be good but he is getting too arrogant and I no longer listen to him. He's started to talk at the listeners instead of listening and entering in debate. He is too logical too. He doesn't seem to have a compassionate side - it's either black or white with him.
I enjoy Murray Deaker (even though I don't really follow sports).
I used to like Allan Dick when he was on Radio Pacific but that was donkey years ago. I haven't listened to that station for years. I don't even think it's call RP anymore.
