Homemade buttermilk

Have you come across a recipe recently when you’ve got all the ingredients except for the essental element, buttermilk? Fortunitly all you need are two ingredients to make your own homemade buttermilk!

  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice or white vinegar
  • 1 cup of milk of choice

Method:

Stir in a tablespoon or two of lemon juice OR vinegar into a cup of milk. Let sit for 5 minutes until the milk begins to curdle and becomes acidic.

Use in place of buttermilk in the recipe as it calls for. Enjoy!
