Poi E: The Story of our Song – Win Tickets!

Poi E: The Story of our Song is based on the iconic song Poi E known by all New Zealanders and regarded as NZ’s “unofficial anthem”. Directed by Tearepa Kahi who also directed Mt Zion it features a variety of well known NZ talent including Stan Walker, Taika Waititi and the Topp Twins.

This film plays broad – it plays to adults, young adults, families, etc. It has humour, it has emotion and it has nostalgia!

Poi E. A wonderful song held close to my heart. When our boys were small we attended a concert at Patea with the Waitotora School as a group and it was welcoming to listen and watch the beautiful Patea group perform Poi E with Dalvanius he was a Legend.

Gosh I remember the iconic song Poi E being released and when I have driven through Patea, I looked up at the waka shown in the scene when this was recorded. That’s Poi E to me.
