What makes up the wind chill factor?
Wind Chill factor makes us feel colder in winter than the air temperature really is. This is due to the interaction of air temperature and wind on the human body that is already giving off heat. Both temperature and wind cause heat loss from body surfaces.

Do carrots help your eyesight?
A diet of carrots won’t give a blind person 20/20 vision. But the vitamins found in the vegetable can help promote overall eye health. Carrots contain beta-carotene, a substance that the body converts to vitamin A, an important nutrient for eye health.

Is Antarctica a desert and why?
Despite its thick ice, Antarctica is classified as a desert because so little moisture falls from the sky. The inner regions of the continent receive an average of 50 millimeters of precipitation—primarily in the form of snow—each year. More rain falls in the Sahara desert.

When will Halley’s comet appear?
Halley’s comet will next appear in the night sky in the year 2062. It orbits the sun every 75-76 years, so this is the time between appearances. Halley’s comet was recorded by Edmund Halley in 1682. It was seen again in 1758, 1835, 1910, and 1986.
