Parents Centre

Parents Centres New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation with 52 independent Centres around the country. Childbirth education (ante-natal) and parent support are the key features that Parents Centre offers. Our committees are made up of volunteers from each community who give of their time and their expertise in order to offer a wide variety of parent education programmes and support networks for parents.

As families become more and more transient and many women returning to the workforce, support for families is increasingly important. Parents Centres is an organisation that welcomes a wide range of volunteers – from new parents to grandparents who may be wishing to utilise their time with a worthwhile community group.

Other key services that are offered by Parents Centres include:

* Kiwi Parent – our national magazine distributed to all members bi-monthly
* Newsletters – each Centre produces a monthly newsletter for all members
* Discount schemes – Centres have a variety of discounts with local businesses
* Coffee groups – an opportunity for parents to come together to share ideas and socialise
* Parent education courses – a wide variety of programmes
* Adult education – approximately 40 workshops available to members to participate in as adult learners
* National Conference – held every year to celebrate the organisation's AGM along with workshops and exciting speakers and events
