I recently received a box of samples of überlube, a premium lubricant designed not only for sexual pleasure but also for “sport and style.”  According to the website, www.uberlube.com, überlube works as an anti-chafe for athletes, and as a chlorine blocker for swimmers.  The website also claims that the product can be used as a weightless, oiless finishing product to tame, de-frizz, and add a perfect understated sheen to your hair.

A lube that can be used on your hair, your body, and in bed?  Well, yes, actually!

A few other facts about überlube:

  • Latex safe and will not harbor outside yeast, bacteria or mold
  • American made
  • Packaged in Type 1 borosilicate glass
  • Doctor recommended; will not harm healthy bacteria or affect Ph levels

In addition to asking my staff test the product, I also sent samples to a number of my fans on Facebook and asked them to complete a survey defining their experience with the product.  In a nutshell, the women who used überlube claimed that they do not normally use any lube during sexual experiences, and if they did it would be water-based.  However, they all claimed to enjoy their überlube experience.

The men, however, are a different story.  Now, it goes without saying that many men use lube more than women–for sex and for masturbation.  Of the men surveyed, 90% said they typically used water-based lubes but they all rated their experience with überlube as between “enjoyed it” and “REALLY enjoyed it.”  100% said they would use überlube in the future.

One particular male participant emailed me the following review of überlube:

“I very much enjoyed my überlube experience!  I use lube almost every time I masturbate and when I have sex.  Astroglide has been my favorite for years–I’ve tried silicone-based lubes including Eros and Gun Oil, but I find them extremely difficult to clean off afterwards.  The überlube was different in a unique way.  Specifically, Astroglide has a tendency to become sticky over time, whereas überlube seemed to fade away instead of becoming sticky, but not “fade away” in a bad way.  After cleanup, the überlube seemed to stay on my body, but not in a bad way either, rather in a “my skin feels silky smooth” kind of way.  I can see why athletes use it to prevent chafing and I wish I’d have had this product when I was waiting tables in college (corn starch has NOTHING on überlube when it comes to preventing chaffing)!  The designer bottle was also a nice touch and made me feel like I was having a designer sexual experience.  Thank you, Dr. Dorree, for introducing me to a fabulous new product!”

In the end, überlube was a win for everyone who tried it.  In my experience with sampling new lubes and surveying people who try them, it’s usually a mix of hits and misses that result in an average 50/50 split of likability.  überlube, however, seemed to be a pleasurable experience for everyone who tried it.  Even those who said that they might not buy it again because they don’t use lube on a regular basis enjoyed their überlube experience.

Bottom line: I’ve only ever supported and promoted organic products, but my fans have spoken and they all love überlube.
