Investing in Commercial Property -The Maat Way

Maat’s commercial property equity investment business has now sourced 13 properties for investors with a market value of $300m since our formation in 2009. Since commencement, we have established Maat as a creditable identifier of properties suitable for investment. Our continual goal is to know our product, know our investors and to present quality properties for investment.

The three directors of Maat are qualified accountants, with two managing their own practices in Taranaki.  Based in Albany, Auckland, the operational management (pictured below) have significant experience in financial control; facilities management; and all administration aspects required for commercial property investments and management. We are now seeking expressions of interest from prospective investors for our next opportunity. This is different to previous Maat offers as it will be a development project in the form of a joint venture with the current owner of the land who will be the future owner/operator of the business. Investors will be offered shares in a company which (in turn) becomes a shareholder in the joint-venture company. The JV Co will acquire the land at Central Park Drive, West Auckland, to develop a large format (27,000m2) household furnishings retail store.

 

The anticipated return will be 8.5%pa* before tax for both the construction stage and projected for the first 2 years and 4 months of trading.

This store is designed to service the needs of a wide spectrum of customers in an environment developed through considerable research. It will be a large employer and is planned to open no later than mid-November 2019.

We anticipate that the Product Disclosure Statement for this offer will be available by early November 2018 for the raising of $26,950,000 of capital in parcels of $50,000 shares (539 parcels).

We have already received significant interest from our current investor base. We now extend the opportunity to further prospective investors who are seeking an investment of this type.
