I’ve watched videos and read some very disturbing articles about online bullying and the effects that can have on people.
Once upon a time some of us thought it was only kids bullying kids, but nowadays it’s got completely out of hand and we’re now seeing many examples (from several members of gups too) of adults bullying adults.
The excuse often given by the perpetrators is that those on the receiving end need to ‘grow up’.
Good luck Supergold and hope you’ll stay and continue posting your excellent contributions.
I truly hope sense will prevail, but common sense isn’t really common at all.
Take care.#1743034gabyoneMemberMember since: November 13, 2008

Rob, Could you clarify please. Are you suggesting that people who complain about Jens putting same stuff on various threads & trying to demand people participate are bullying him when asking him to stop.? You have supported his right in the past but…. did you actually repond to his ongoing attempts to reintroduce the same topic?. People started out polite but after so many years of the same old chestnut it is frustrating. Myself I have been seeing the same stuff being brought into various threads for probably 11 + years. Most of us tried being polite but it just continued.
I say those folk who are happy to converse with Jens on his topic, actually offer to do so but only on the threads that were set up for that purpose.
Am happy to join the G/ups exodus if management decree my post is out of order.

Gabyone, I await rob023’s reply to your post with interest. One wonders if watching videos and reading articles is to understand the problem of bullying or to improve one’s skills.#1743038sir-nigel-gresleyMemberMember since: January 10, 2017

After reading the last few pages of this thread it is clear that some topics which have been discussed on this thread are better suited to forums of a more suitable theme. Please browse the list of discussion forums we have (here) and find an appropriate theme for your comments. This is to make sure that people aren’t becoming disinterested, confused or mislead about themes that say one thing and read as another.
Also, may I please remind you all that name calling and picking on other members won’t be tolerated on this site so please everyone be kind to your fellow members.

But you have to realise Matt some people post in a very antagonistic manner which invites scathing replies / remarks.

Are you aware here in NZ we have the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015 to tackle online bullying.
The Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015 set up special processes you can use if you’re been harassed or bullied through texts, emails, websites, apps or social media posts. The aim is to provide a relatively quick and easy way for harm to be reduced, including by getting harmful posts or messages taken down or disabled, while at the same time giving people appropriate room for freedom of expression.
NZ is one of the few countries in the world to have such legislation.
Cheers 🙂#1743060gabyoneMemberMember since: November 13, 2008

Long before you took over your role there were lots of people who reached explosion point for the exact same reason. And yes ,as Huiatahi said, there are also the occasional provocative poster who insists on nitpicking at anyone who has a differing opinion. Seemingly polite folk who deride the opposing poster. Many of us who have been on these threads a long time know who the true bullies are ,& personally I have only fallen foul of management in very recently times as a result of total frustration. Would be good to have a moderator able regularly to spend time reading contentious threads.
