Take for example that Baby in hospital with many fractured bones and the Whanau refusing to cooperate with police. Bet if these child molesters were Middle class white males or Asian the media would be knocking on the criminals doors looking for answers.

I was looking forward to reading the comments in response to this particular post but all I have found is a resounding silence!!  Why???

Vale you make a very good point as to why no comment- re if a Asian European etc put this baby in Hospital it would  attract lots of comments. This brings me on to a topic with the media market research etc and Govt depts etc… when questioning you on what ever topic re demographics is brought into the question. What ethnic group do you belong too…. I often say I am a born Kiwi or a New Zealander.  Why I ask do we have to classify what ethic we are …. I come from mostly pure Celtic back ground. I dont see myself as a European as I never been over there and as my family has been in NZ since the 1870s and I am the third generation  here I classify myself as a Kiwi.

Many in this country are a mix of cultures, Why are they expected to pick one out  they may have and say I am Maori Pacific Asian what ever …. Why  cannot we say as I suggest I am a Kiwi!

Re crime above people learn bad ways not from society in my opinion but from the home and environment from the home ( ie street behavior …due to  adults  in home not caring where you  are). In regards the Maori or Asian etc   ethnic added to the story above I as above ask why  this is relevant to the problem of the child.  Isnt the reality the child arrived at hospital due to bad care givers not looking after it properly  NOT its ethnic background

True, the home environment of the physically abused youngster hospitalized with broken bone, and family members whom were unwilling to assist police in investigating matters speaks volumes about the kind of home that poor child suffers in. That there were people who obviously knew how the child was injured and weren’t prepared to assist indicates the parents should never have custody of young people. Too much “political correctness” in NZ society today which allows too many low lives to get away with family violence. Incredibly sad, but an ugly part of some cultures here in NZ.

According to the New York Times, “France Declares Strasbourg Shooting an Act of Terrorism

“Rémy Heitz, the Paris prosecutor, who handles terrorism investigations nationwide, said at a news conference in Strasbourg that witnesses had heard the attacker yell “Allahu akbar,” or “God is great” in Arabic, and that the targets and the suspect’s profile justified the opening of a terrorism investigation

    Already disturbed, approach with caution.

And on the  ACC levies  if you have a more modern safer car, your levies will go up and if you have an older more dangerous car, your levies will go down!
Which makes a mockery of promoting safer, cleaner burning cars.

” What ethnic group do you belong to?”
We always write ‘New Zealander’ in the ‘Other’ box.

That will be the same incident mommabear. Unfortunately I can not get through to the Stuff.Co.NZ website but would be interested in what they have to say. Are they calling it a terrorist attack?
