Now we are coming up to the festive season, maybe we can get a list going of useful websites. To start the ball rolling I find
Wikipedia excellent, it is contributed by members of the public so not necessarily factual.

lol Happy New Year to all.
Im having a problem with PC. Can anyone help please.
I didn’t mean to, but deleted my picture for here. Problem is, my PC won’t now, paste @ copy, from itself, or my photo’s.
Also, I would like to know about this Face Book, & how it works. I got onto the web page, where it said to sign up. Haven’t yet, but, when do, what does it do. and how do you look at things. ?? It seams, that, there are many things there. As, when looking @ other things, the Face Book box, seams to be everywhere.
I’m not very PC expert, so, would appreciate your help. confused Many Thanks
I can copy & paste from one comment box, eg, from Admin to here, but can’t copy & paste from PC to elsewhere. It used to do so, but now doesn’t. I don’t no why ??.January 7, 2012 at 7:12 pm #79660
A Happy New Year to you too!
I hope that I can be of some help to you. I need to ask you some questions regarding your computer, first of all, what OS are you using? Windows XP, Windows VISTA, Windows 7?
Facebook is a social networking site. Do you know other friends or family that use it? You can join it very easily by setting up your own profile and privacy settings. You can use it to keep in touch with friends and family , in a fun and friendly way.
Copy and paste is a really good way of sharing stuff. As I said in the first part of this reply, what is your OS?

Thank-you, my computer is windows 7. I don’t know what OS means.
No, I don’t know of any family or friends on Facebook.
I’m not very computer minded.Just don’t understand, how I could copy & paste from computer to elsewhere, now can’t. I was doing it for my son, with his farm letter of experence on computer, then I copied & paste, onto email for jobs. But, now it won’t copy. He has a very good farm job, now, thank-goodness. Otherwise, would have to type out each letter. thank-you for reading this.:DJanuary 7, 2012 at 10:46 pm #79662
OS means operating system.
Your copy and paste problem is strange, I have no idea why you should suddenly not be able to do that successfully. You could tell me exactly how you are copying and how and where you are trying to paste to. Which program you are using when you want to copy something and which program you are wanting to paste into. I will try to help you sort it it out.

I can copy & paste from Herald news & Stuff news, to NZ topix.
Can look @ pictures, images of dogs, windchimes, etc, nice things, can download & save to desk top, but can’t copy, paste from desk top to put image of windchimes here for me. It has done so before. When I got computer a friend set everything up,without explaining what & how, but we have had a falling out.( no matter) Can’t even copy & paste my letters from docoments on computer, to email to be sent. have done so before.
My browser google set up is with FireFox, has been since got computer, about 18mths ago, haven’t had any problems with it. Although, the past number of weeks, it says, “You haven’t downloaded the lastest updates”. So, I go through its, to do, then, it still comes up, with the same thing. I have even turned off PC, and restarted it, still says the same.
There is a PC fix it shop, in Tokoroa, do you think maybe, they might need to look at whats not going on..???:roll:January 8, 2012 at 7:36 am #79664

Is there a SeniorNet club in your area. They help with problems and also run learning groups.January 8, 2012 at 7:41 am #79665
It used to keep Google history, from google search, in a list, under the google search line, where I could just bring up whatever I had searched, and looked at. Without having to type into the google search box, everytime, I wanted to see the same thing. But, some how, now, it doesn’t do so. On the left corner, on the firefox click on, then on history, it will be there, but, so is every page of the Herald news, I have looked at.etc.Everything I look at on Trademe etc. Which, I can delete, but, for some strange reason, it will also delete, all the www sites, which it didn’t do before.I didn’t used to have to go to firefox history to look up things, just did so on the google search box list. There must be Little Gremlins in this PC. Don’t mean virus.
Any idea’s ??January 8, 2012 at 7:44 am #79666

Has it just been a problem since you changed your computer to Windows 7?
No, there is no SeniorNet in Tokoroa.

I looked, will have a try at what it says.I think. I’m afraid that things are quite confusing for me. But, if I’m showen, and write down, what I’m showen, then its easier for me.
This computer has always been windows 7. I don’t think its been changed. I will have a look for Sweep, and will ask nicely, if he can help.
Thank-you.January 8, 2012 at 10:00 am #79670

A small bouquet for you 🙂 I am a computer technician.
I often come onto GrownUps and sometimes look at the technology threads. I seldom comment, as I usually observe that you have been a most patient, thorough, and helpful contributor to the threads. You appear to have the patience of Job, and a most supportive attitude to those who request help, whether they be skilled users with a quirky question or newbies.
So here’s a pat on the back to you from me! Keep up the great work!January 9, 2012 at 12:46 pm #79674
Thank you for your words of support. I enjoy helping people with their computer probs, and if I cannot, will try to find someone who can.

Just wondering if anyone has tried any TV sites outside of the NZ networks and if so are they safe to use.
