Thank god you answered Kari… I thought the world had decided to call it quits and nobody had told me… so do tell… in the strictest of privacy of course, which is easy ’cause we are obviously the only two left, is there romance in your life and if there isn’t, what are you doing about it? Personally, I can’t live without it!
    😕

I believe in true love. I believe in keeping yourself for marriage. Romance is still alive and well but what chance does it have among people who just live together?Living together means draining true love from a relationship and making it sordid. My sister and BIL have been married for a few months off forty-five years. They love each other dearly. They’ve been through good times and bad together. Now that’s romantic if you ask me.

Peter- How you perform in bed is a private matter and concerns yourself and your wife.Never mind how you rate as a sperm donor.
Do you believe in Romance? Do you think that it still exists? While you are thinking about this you might like to order a large bunch of red roses to be sent to your wife.

Most of my single friends and family have put themselves through the online dating, speed dating, bar-hopping mill in the desperate hope of meeting someone. Mostly they found nothing but misery.

I have one friend who is so desperate to have a man on her arm that she says she’s given up looking for a `nice man’ … as long as he’s a man. 😯

Someone I know gave up online dating after one chap she went on a date with started chatting about all the people he’d met through the website, only to discover that he’d been to bed with at least three women she knew personally.

I know of one couple who met through a Christian singles website (and are happily married now) so there are some good dating websites out there.

Within my circle of friends the `success stories’ are my friends who decided they didn’t want to become `cougars’ and decided to join clubs with a mixed membership instead of going to bars and social events all the time.

They joined sports groups like exercise, swimming, badminton, tennis, croquet and bowls clubs (some going in as learners to learn the sport).

One joined a Lions club (which have mixed membership now).

Some joined arts and craft groups, went to night classes, joined music clubs (country and western, chamber and classical music) and took dancing lessons too which allowed them to go along to community socials and old-time dances.

One also went along to `lectures’ that the local library put on and `travel nights’ too, which the local travel agent does from time to time, when they want to promote cruises etc.

Occasionally retirement villages put on social events and church groups often have coffee mornings and the like.

A couple of these women have now met nice men and are in relationships at present, but all of them have made friends and now have a good social life now – simply by going out and joining a club or two.

I had lunch today with a lovely couple who had been married for 42 years. Not to each other of course… but it was a lovely lunch, I had Venison over a beetroot couscous…

    😀 @ Keits

My dad used to tell everyone that he and my mum had been married for 50 years, happily for one.

The other one was that he and mum were very happy … "mind you we are divorced". 😉

The last time I got married, it was in the evening. I figured if it didn’t work out I wouldn’t have wasted the whole day…
