    Azukim,
I’m not sure if this site is the right fit for you. Perhaps you could try Googling “Christian blogs” for example.
The whole point about Grownups is that we are NOT all the same. That’s why we enjoy our discussions so much — it’s fun and stimulating to swap different opinions and viewpoints.
If you are interested in making contact with not-so-like-minded people, and listening to what they say, you’re quite welcome to join in.

Haven’t seen you in the chat room Karibou – as for listening – joining in and making contact – I’m in there every day usually :0)

Hi Azukim, welcome to our Forum. This is one forum that people speak openly. And it may not be to your liking. As for the Chat room, that will be used by those who enjoy it.Not everyone is of that ilk.Like not everyone on here is Religious.

Not everyone likes gardening either Mona – those folk probably don’t bother with the gardening section.
As for ‘us sinners’ gee-bee – I’ve never noticed Jesus making a distinction between sin in thought or sin in action. It would be dangerous for me to think I’m not a sinner. I’m simply one who is saved by grace – God’s grace and I’m no better than anybody else.

gee-bee, you said no religion or politics. There is a fair proportion about politicians and politics on other threads.

I didn’t say it wasn’t talked about OKK.I just was been my old stirring self.Azukim is obviously enjoying Grownups and that’s the main thing.I like many on this site don’t enjoy chat rooms.I simply don’t have that much to say.I prefer writing.By the way Azukim God and Jesus dwell in my life to.But I prefer to think of myself as a free-thinking adult not harnessed by the shackles of religion.I need God,but I don’t need religion.

Christianity is about a relationship with God through Jesus who is The Way The Truth and The Life (John 14:6)
Religion is about rules & regulations – I don’t need religion either gee-bee

The census tells us that most people in NZ consider themselves Christians, but less than half identify with a religion.
Gee bee like many others I see the two as being different.

It’s you who are on the defensive Azukim. What’s so offensive about asking you to define the difference between church and religion? I’m just curious that’s all.I’m a Christian-minded individual.Look up the meaning of Christian in the dictionary, and it states among other meanings-civil and upright.I’m both of those, and I really don’t mind you been a Christian,I think that is a blessing. As far as Grey Power is concerned. I’m a shade annoyed with Grey Power here in Napier. They have just elected the Labour Party representative-Russell Fairbrother as President.I support Labour but I hardly see this move as been unbiased as far as Grey Power is concerned. But Azukim-thanks for the news about petrol in Dubai.Do you reckon they might export us some?

Azukim , you should have asked ( How many practice their religion and how many just give it lip service .? ) So many go to their church or temple on Sunday and rob their neighbour on Monday . And so many go to their mosque every day and kill and bomb woman and children an hour later , so what is a practicing christian . I do not go to church but I believe there is a God and I do what I believe he would want .

Well Trogan that is a sensible reply to a very vexing subject. The big problem is the interpretation of God’s word.We have made many wars and battles based on what God might consent to.Each individual has had to make their own mind up.I don’t believe God intended us to kill.He wouldn’t have come up with the Ten Commandments otherwise.
Again arduous debate on what was intended.I personally think Religion gets in the way of common sense. If you are isolated by only one point of view your deaf to another.Remember those famous lines in the “Abu Ben Adam” poem- the Arab states to the Angel-Put me down on your list as a lover of all men.And Abu Ben Adam’s name topped the list.
That’s the sort of Christian I’d like to be.

Abu Ben Adam may his tribe increase, awoke one night from a deep dream of peace. Yes the words are just as true today as they were back in the 30s when I learned them at school . Write me as one who loves his fellow man .

Narnie, like you I am a christian, I believe in God and I try to follow his ways, but I dont go to church regularly. I dont believe going to church every week makes you a good christian – its what you DO with your life that counts.

There you are Azukim as you can see we are all Christians on this site.Like many I don’t go to church, but try to lead a civil life.I don’t get confused with scripture. If anything it encourages me.As it states in Ephesians- “I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me”. I’m not going to hoodwink anyone with a narrow-minded point of view.Narnie succinctly puts our world into prospective. God made everything in this world, including non-christians.There is alaways design in the Master’s plan.
