I went out to collect pictures of things I had seen recently in the Garden City.

wonderful display of local art and culture…..well captured FruitBuns. I find it too much walking around the city to take pics these days but must check out a couple of those spots…especially the lopsided swings. I’d not seen them before. Thanks for sharing… p 😀

Thank you for your comments and picture Kai. I have seen that picture but can’t remember where. There is something similar in the library. Most of my pictures were taken at the children’s playground junction of Manchester Street and Gloucester Street, the earlier pictures were around the Casino. The ‘rusty’ artwork is about a block from the children’s playground.

The Botanic Gardens have a Titan Arum which is due to flower, I’ve been going every day to inspect it, 4 days so far. I thought it might encourage it to flower if it were given a shock, so I thought of saying secateurs to it or even chain saw, a neighbour suggested glyphosate but I thought that was a bit below the belt. An early picture shows the smoke from the Australian fires 1000 miles away. Other pictures of the Botanic Gardens.

There are a lot of pictures.

Fantastic photos, Fruitbuns. Like Gypsyspirit I’m not up to getting out and about these days so it is wonderful to see some of the sights of our new city. Great photography, wish I had half your talent.

The Botanic Gardens over three days, then it flowers. A trip to the Port Hills to see if the Summit Road is open – it wasn’t.

Fantastic photographs as per usual. Did you get a smell of the flower?
Love the scenes looking down over the plains. Thank you, Fruitbuns 🙂
