Just home after attending an Age Concern meeting and for entertainment we had a very good piano accordianist; what a wonderful change to hear some REAL music with a tune instead of the wangle jangle that floods the air waves these days. So good to have a room full of happy people singing along to good tunes.

Don I am in  a choir of approx 50 grown ups, they are approx 60yrs to 90plus we sing mostly  show tune songs etc and have a pianist accompanying  us to  help us sing. We periodically sing out in rest homes, where  the residents enjoy singing along with us.

It used to be said that love made the world go around, but I believe it is music that makes the world go around. I think my love of music began during the war when towns had Community Sings in the local hall and crowds turned up to sing along to lyrics displayed on a screen. Always a great spirit of friendlyness present.Well done paulinem, you are spreading one of life’s treasures, happiness.

Many dogs are walked past my place and this morning there was a typical example of how they should NOT be walked. A big man with a small dog on a short lead was pacing firmly up the street, the little dogs legs going like windmill blades in a gale. When it tried to stop and do what dogs like to do, sniff, its head was nearly pulled off by the walker. This is not an uncommon occurance unfortunately. Why do people have dogs and not treat them properly, a walk is a dogs daily outing to be enjoyed doing their thing, it should not be a rushed exercise at the walkers pace.

Perhaps it’s the walker who should be on the lead Don.

A wonderful way to start the day.

The Silverferns came back from oblivion 😛 😛 😛 . 16 months ago they hit rock bottom and now they are world champions. ❗ ❗ ❗

Be proud NZ. Take pride that it is not just  all about rugby . These girls deserve our congratulations & support.

And the Black Caps actually won the cricket, they just haven’t got the cup!  The umpire has just admitted he made a mistake

Yes we have a lot to celebrate with our sporting prowess but I simply feel excited about the netball because generally netball & womens sport does not get the news media attention.

It’s amazing isn’t it how NZ tends to punch above it’s weight in most sports when you consider that our population is smaller than Sydney’s. Countries with much larger populations are unable to compete with us. I wonder why that is? Is it possible that we are doing something right in this country after all?
