Hate arises from a belief that is taken to the extreme .
Utterly rejecting and condemning are great sounding words ,But actually change nothing . teaching children love and compassion and how to avoid the propaganda of beliefs would help.#1714445farmer008 March 16, 2019 at 9:43 am
A 4 year old girl is fighting for her life because of that murderer who was saturated in some misguided belief.
Children suffer worldwide because of the beliefs of unintelligent fanatical adults.
It is up to politicians and Parents to erase the promotion violence of any sort from the media and our sport and daily expressions.
Also our gun laws should be tightened .
Our country needs immigrants , the more we get the better off we shall be.#1714446DallyMemberMember since: June 30, 2006

Aggie – a more careful reading of my posts might show that I didnt demean his character but I feel that Im quite entitled to criticise what he writes. If he had limited that comment to one post it might have been construed as humour but to keep repeating it over several posts it becomes a statement and gives succour the those who subscribed to that position.#1714447cook222MemberMember since: December 23, 2018

Perhaps your hatred of culture and religion is taken to the extreme farmer….Just saying. I go along with letting people have the freedom to follow their religion and culture as long as it doesn’t interfere with other people’s lives. Once it interferes with other peoples lives it has become extreme.
You are trying to interfere with other people’s lives

I agree. I note for Farmer’s information that it was those “With” religious beliefs that were the target of these idiots! I only hope they were the only ones involved, but with the amount of planning involved I doubt it and would not be surprised to see more pop up.

Just this once give it a rest please farmer.
The terrorists chose the wrong city; we have experience in coping with adversity here, & if they think we’ll take the path of hatred they want us to then they have another think coming.
This will have the effect of bringing people closer together just as the quakes did.#1714453farmer008 March 16, 2019 at 10:43 am
Then you are saying that we should not interfere with any Belief that could lead to or sow the seeds to violence, I enjoy colorful and expressive cultures such as the Lantern festival or Dhauli. not ones that promote violence and intimidation in every expression.#1714454paulinemMemberMember since: July 8, 2006

I see the killer was issued with a gun license in Nov 2017. He brought the two semi automatic guns legally in Dec 2017. As Jacinta correctly said in her press conference this morning our gun laws need looked at and changed ASAP. Questions I no doubt will be asked as how this killer was not on the watch list and how come our police saw him safe enough to have a license.#1714455farmer008 March 16, 2019 at 10:47 am
Yes ,the promotion of togetherness, through love and by expressions of compassion are essential for getting over this madness that has entered our country.
Violence and hatred of any form should be erased from our thoughts .#1714456mommabear70MemberMember since: February 20, 2017

And here we go already.
The ‘hate’ word.
Farmer makes good points. I don’t see Farmer has any hatred.
When adults ( other than the parents) saturate children, choice and freedom is taken from them.
I agree “utterly rejecting and condemning” are great sounding words, but mere sound bites, they actually change nothing.
Cults take on many forms be it a motorcycle gang, a religious commune or some forms of central government.
Teaching children love and compassion is vital and this begins in a home with a mother and a father.
Teach your children right, teach your children well.
No cult has the right to interfere with that.
Parents must be able to bring up their children their way.
But when a cult forces people to join their cult and make you follow their rules, that’s when trouble starts.
Our current government is interfering with parents rights.
Closing charter schools was a backwards move.
Now we have education by brainwashing – the State knows what’s best for your children.
Cook222 has it right – once it interferes with other peoples lives it has become extreme.
