huiatahi, what part of the Grownups Discussion Forum Guidelines don’t you understand?
Example “Racist remarks, threatening, vulgar, abusive, derogatory comments and profanity will be removed from the discussion threads.  If you see certain comments fall into this category, please email us via Contact Us.”
If you’ve already done so and the particular post(s) have not been removed, you may have a point. But remember “The moderator’s decision is final and no discussions will be entered in to.”

If you don’t like what I consider, fairly standard website rules, then you might consider  trying your luck on another forum.

I have contacted admin both by contact me and abuse button…in some cases they have been removed at other times they haven’t.  At times some of the cases would have warranted a referral to race relations commissioner.

We’re all fully capable of comprehending the rules around posting here & at other forums.

The reality is that Huiatahi has it right;there are times when admin acts on complaints & times when admin doesn’t. As a result we often have troll/s posting racist comments.

Going by what admin has said in the past there seems to be a small staff doing the best they can which might account for it.

For anyone who hasn’t heard – the possible strike is off.

Thank goodness for that. I’m leaving early tomorrow morning for a 6 day trip to Fiji to attend my grandson’s wedding and returning 21st December. I was almost imagining camping at Nadi Airport waiting for a flight back home before Christmas and doubted the likelihood of that happening.  😥

Excited about the trip now that I know I will be back home as planned.  😀

If admin decides not to delete particular  posts flagged via the abuse button, that could be construed that the flagger was someone very thin skinned.

I don’t recall seeing any posts where a referral to the race relations commissioner was warranted.

    imho that is.

There are people on this site and all over New Zealand who are offended if someone with a different opinion dares to speak.

There is a growing reaction to these liberal snowflakes  growing all over Europe and in the UK and be assured by the time its over there will be a lot of blood lost.

Brexit could be  the beginning of what according to a relative,  a civil war .

Hopefully not,  but the British {English } have had enough.

Have to wonder if there’ll be any compensation made as it seems you can’t make an insurance claim for  strike action.

I think you may not be right in your assumptions. The way I heard the news on the radio was that you “Were” covered IF you took out Travel Insurance before the strike was announced BUT not if you took it out after it was announced.

You cannot take out cover for an event you know about before hand.

I hope I have explained that properly.

Hope your trip goes well SG – a nice break in the sun before Xmas is just what’s needed after the weather we’ve had lately.

Its extremely unlikely that any strike action will now take place,so don’t worry yourself – just enjoy the break. 🙂

John Cleese on the term “Snowflake”:

    https://metro.co.uk/2018/07/09/monty-python-actor-john-cleese-denounces-twitter-troll-over-snowflake-insult-7694871/

“Yes I’ve heard this word. I think sociopaths use it in an attempt to discredit the notion of empathy.”

Cleese’s retaliation didn’t stop there. Another critic suggested that the actor was able to get away with his jokes about football teams such as Japan because of his so-called ‘privilege’. Making reference to his Monty Python co-star Graham Chapman, Cleese replied: ‘I know. But I seem to have a licence to be naughty. Chapman gave it to me and it’s still valid. In fact the older I get, the more valid it becomes. Because the self-righteous need my help, in their struggle for self awareness.’

    🙂
