BUT THESE MEN   how  could any normal rational human have sex with a child in these conditions ?????

I totally agree with you! these anamals have no feeling for anyone or anything but themselves! And mores the pity that they must look like the pillars of society with big incomes or they wouldn’t have the where with all to pay for it. Youknow like the Dr’s Lawers Business owners etc. And then when or if they get caught they expect name suppression. 😡 😡

We know from the past that flogging or castrating is in no way a deterrent, & a return to the brutal & barbaric methods of the past is unlikely to be useful except in giving reign to the wish for a vindictive & cruel punishment.

I think paedophiles, while definitely human are quite obviously not at all the same as most of us;there’s something very badly wrong with them & I remember reading somewhere ages ago that a large proportion pf these people were abused as children themselves. If that’s right it may go some way to explain it & I think in most cases, preventative detention may be the way to go since if they’re permanently locked away they’re unable to hurt any child.

And on a much nicer note,Happy birthday Arandar. Hope your day is a lovely one. 😎  🙂

And on that much happier note I hastily agree. Arandar is one of those who’s opinions I may not always agree with but I respect.

    😍

thank you very much. It’s really heart warming to come in here and be greeted with birthday good wishes. Much appreciated.

You know what, I met and spoke to a pedophile once in one of our prisons. He was elderly, well presented, well spoken, well educated, quiet, courteous.

He was, he said, looking forward to the truth coming out and to being released

I asked the prison manager about him.

‘He will never get out. He’s still dangerous, (75yo he was) still denying he did anything wrong, still blaming the many children he assaulted over many years.’

They have always walked amongst us, always lived in our communities.

I’m 68 today.  I was 7 when I was assaulted by the ‘local pedo’.  He hurt me and frightened me badly yet I never told.  Not till I was a young mother of two, returned to my childhood town, and saw him buying sweets for two little girls waiting outside the dairy for him.

I went straight to the local cop and reported it.  He said, ‘don’t worry, we know all about him, we keep an eye on him,’ and I said ‘but what about the kids he’s buying sweets for today?’ And was told, ‘don’t worry, thanks for coming in.’

I never heard anything more. All these years later, 45 probably, I wonder if he hurt those kids too.

I dealt with one professionally a few years ago.  Typically, he denied he had done anything wrong.  He had a pattern … befriending the young mums of young children lacking positive male role models in their lives.

Interestingly, he had been working in a rest home from where he was sacked for assaulting elderly dementia patients, after, finally, someone realised they were having most of their falls and accidents on his shifts.  They were mostly nonverbal, but someone noticed and reported how frightened of him so many patients were.  He was also plausible, charming, well spoken.  He came to me complaining of unfair dismissal!  God, the nerve of these guys is absolutely stunning!!

There have been the horrors of a complicit church, of cops, nurses, social workers, foster parents, assaulting the children in their care, the scandals involving stars of stage and screen, the pedophile rings in Australia, England, the States, everywhere in Europe and South East Asia, organisations like Boy❤️Man that promote sexual relationships between adult men and underage boys.

Ive come to the conclusion that pedophilia is far more common than most of us realise. Common but I will never accept that it is normal.

They are the least likely to be rehabilitated.  Castration is neither cure nor protection. Preventative detention for repeat offenders is the only way to keep further victims safe from them.

I really appreciate the use of Maori  especially in greetings, weather, our place names this past week or two. Te Waipounaumu  sounds better than The South Island. What do you think?

I remember reading that Arandar, that paedophiles tend to be more in denial of their crimes than other groups of offenders are. Until a way can be found of fixing whatever causes it – if that’s possible – they’re best locked away.

Agreed,Te wai pounamu sound far more interesting & poetic than the south island, bit then its a very poetic, language.

    All Males are potential pedophiles.
There is no such thing as a truly normal Heterosexual male as they all have erection urges while viewing beauty no matter what the form .
