So we killed another 12 people last weekend, on our roads.
To the end of November we had killed 325 people.
Looks as though we are going to have killed one person a day for the year.
is it necessary as a means of population control?
If not why are we doing it?

TedE totally agree with you .I think people are going for a record.
Senseless acts by crazy drivers on our roads.Drink Driving ,using Cell Phones.Speed.People being impatient. Not paying attention to whats happening on our roads.
The list goes on .All we can do is play our part.#1738830lesoMemberMember since: November 12, 2008

Drive sensibly. Think what you are doing and what others are doing also. Give good clear indication of your actions. All of these deaths were avoidable. It will get even worse if the vote on legalising marijuana is in favour of change. Take care out there . WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES.#1738835BryanMemberMember since: October 28, 2006

Always remember that no matter how well YOU drive you also share the with others that may not be as careful as you are!
Also if you are driving reasonably slowly make sure you don’t hold others up, when there’s room pull over a little and let the others past. Drivers that are impatient tend to try to pass at inopportune places so let them pass where it’s safe!
Enjoy a safe festive period.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Road condition, weather, glare, rain, mist, ice, livestock, traffic congestion, pedestrians, you name it combined with speed, inexperience, fatigue, road rage, cellphones, unsafe vehicles and straight out stupid crazy drivers either druged or drunk are ripe conditions for a tragic outcome. This includes some lollypops that say GO but they really mean STOP. We have to be alert an attentive out there. Too many lives are being lost. I think horse and cart substitute for a solution wouldnt get many votes. By the way I’m new and just finding my way around in here.</p>#1738860don021MemberMember since: May 15, 2012

Car makers have a lot to answer for with the gadgetry they put in vehicles these days,
requiring eyes to move from the road to the gadget to view or adjust. It only takes two seconds if the eyes are diverted to the dash to read average speed or some other un-necessary display for the car to move into a dangerous position.I believe stereo systems are one of the worst offenders, drivers fiddling with CD’s are not watching the road.#1738875BryanMemberMember since: October 28, 2006

Welcome, Polyfiller. Come on in and have your say, someone else’s opinion is always welcome. There are going to be times when your opinion is different to others b ut have your say just the same.
But you know the old saying “Come on in the waters fine!”.
