If anyone is interested in house swapping I have been doing it for over 10 years now. It is a fantastic way to travel! It works well for couples but is equally a great option for solo travelers too. For me it makes overseas holidays affordable. I have just got back from a home swap on a game reserve in Botswana. Truly a holiday of a lifetime! I love the site I use. It is based in Australia but has houses all over the world. The site is built around friendliness and trust and I really recommend it. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to mention it by name here? I’m certainly happy to send further details and answer any questions. It is becoming more and more popular to travel this way, especially amongst retirees.

I thoroughly recommend the home swapping site that Vista44 has mentioned .I joined at the beginning of the year ( it’s still free to join)  and have already confirmed 3 exchanges. I was a bit dubious  about exchanging at first but everyone  I have had contact with is so friendly and it is a lot about trust. You trust them with your house and they are doing the same to you. Last year on a different Home exchange site we had a couple from San Sebastián in Spain stay a week,we went there a few years ago and loved it but never thought we would return and because of the request we are planning to spend a week there next year followed by another 6 exchanges around Spain and France. It has been fun  putting all the plans together and looking forward to the trip next year
