‘Dismiss as the thoughts of an ignorant person’.

    Agreed, Halcyon. 😄

Except, 1. When someone is hurt by them as in the original article and

    2. We want to continue to discuss and debate on these almost moribund pages.

No huiatahi, it makes you wonder why four million people can’t get along, without others pushing their agendas on top of them. Holly mackerel, the vast majority of our country, of over three hundred & fifty million people get along. What do you think, everybody is out there fighting, gun slinging everyday!  No, its nothing like that. Its just the professors at University’s instilling their beliefs of their one eyed view, on the students. Hey, I was polite there!

    Night freemind.

It is with some shock on reading about Doc L. and to keep it in your mind on how others view things. I’ll leave it at that.

I might also add for the dogooders, on why there is so much suicide in NZ.  It might pay to have some feelings on how others feel, you have no idea what freemind has been through!

You may have a point there Jennifer but if that is the case he/ she needs counselling rather than insulting everyone who doesn’t see things his/her way

Actually freemind’s last post and the response to it epitomises the issue that underpins this thread. People have reacted to a “key word” rather than analysing what he was saying.  People have chosen to feel insulted by his  sentence “Maybe you irritants should join some Aid agency and get out in the real world”. Why?

What would have happened if people had ignored that sentence and focused on the atrocities that he highlights? Are those atrocities actually happening? The best evidence I can find suggest they are.

I am more offended by those atrocities than I am about someone’s opinion of me. In fact I do not care what freemind, or anyone else for that matter, thinks of me. I grew up in a family who had a saying – “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” Remember, we have choices, we can feel hurt or we can chose to ignore what was said. Like with this post, the choice is yours.

Your post is insulting to every aid worker who has suffered Trauma

Think you should stay in your little cultural enclave and leave dealing with the real world to those with compassion.

    Counselling Indeed.

And many of your posts insult my whanau and many others who post on this site.  I certainly hope counseling is provided for traumatised aid workers…..it certainly seems to have affected you for which you have my sympathy
