Kai, what an amazing photo, it brought back so many memories. Welkut, Minsons and of course the Kashmir Coffee Lounge. Good days, when we thought we would always be young and have time to do everything we planned. Are you Likely to be visiting any time soon?#1722372nossib1MemberMember since: June 24, 2017

Sounds lovely your trips away Bunnyhop and Desi. Managed to have a day in Akaroa recently and had an evening meal at the Duvauchelle’s Tavern, was very impressed.
Have put a big gash in my right leg ( what a blood bath it was, being on warfarin) and now having to have district nurses every day to dress it. Grateful for this as it cost me $217 going to the doctors each day last week; this did include a $25 plastic bag to put over my heavily bandaged leg for showering…..useless thing ripped on first use!
Look forward to catching up another time but do still come out for a visit , Desi. I think you have my phone number. 🙂#1722377wineloverMemberMember since: July 25, 2008

Thanks Kai for your photo. It brings back many memories. There used to be a little book shop at the back of Minsons in the late 1940’s-1950’s. We used to spend our grandparents Christmas present there-5 shillings!. Also 3ZB was about where that photo was taken. Was a member of Hay’s Junior League and there was a live session on Friday afternoons. The visiting Rugby teams used to stay at The United Service Hotel. I remember waiting outside with a girlfriend to get autographs from The Lions. Oh memories! Ann 011#1722432nana-rose June 13, 2019 at 11:11 pm

Me too, nana-rose. Loved Minsons, Haywrights, DIC, all the familiarity of old, ann011. The new Colombo St, etc is devoid of the character it once had. So miss the old Square, everything. 🙁#1722650bunnyhopMemberMember since: January 21, 2010

Yes the photo of Colombo street surely bought memories back for me too. The city is soooo different now. I very seldom go into town now, mainly because I’m inclined to loose my sense of direction. Hope everyone is keeping warm. See you tomorrow morning at McDonald’s in merivale. Cheers 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️#1722673nana-rose June 16, 2019 at 10:34 pm
GLAD I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO KEEPS OUT OF TOWN, I GET LOST BECAUSE THE FAMILIAR LANDMARKS ARE NOT THERE. IT IS A PITY THE NEW BUILDINGS ARE SO BORING. CHEERS NANA ROSE#1722683bunnyhopMemberMember since: January 21, 2010

Hope judy and graham enjoyed their holiday in Brisbane, and will be able to join us ,once they get over their colds.
Keep warm everyone with this cold forecast for later in the week. See you next Monday at the valley inn. I haven’t been there for years. Bye. 🙋♀️🙋♀️🔥🔥🌦🌦
