Book club competition…Hachette’s ‘Recommended for Reading Groups’!

pexels-photo-134602Book clubs or reading groups are a great way to broaden your horizons. Exploring different countries and cultures through the words on the pages can help you to view things with fresh eyes and give a greater understanding of the world we live in. They’re also a great way to expand your social life and community by providing an opportunity to meet and befriend people from all walks of life – a very enjoyable addition to anyone’s social calendar!

However, one of the challenges of a reading group is choosing the right book to read. Should it be a thriller or a light romantic comedy, fiction or non-fiction? The book needs to spark discussion and appeal to most tastes, but finding something to suit everyone can be hard.

That’s where the experts at Hachette put their passion for books and international publishing knowledge to good use. This August and September, Hachette will come up with a selection of titles that will be sure to appeal to all and they want to share their recommendations with you. And the best bit? They’re giving you and your book club the opportunity to win each month! As well as the winning group individuals receiving a copy of the chosen title (from the ‘Recommended for Reading Groups’ books on offer that month) they will also be sent a delicious cheese selection platter to enjoy at their get together…because we all know the other benefit of reading groups is the food and wine you get to share!

Group Of Senior Couples Attending Book Reading GroupThe first competition starts in August, so get moving – a book club only needs 2 people to start. Create your own reading group by getting your friends or colleagues together, invite the friends you’ve already made on GrownUps to join in, utilise our ‘Find Friends’ or ‘Discussion Forum’ sections to search for other GrownUps in your area who may be interested, put a notice up at your local supermarket or get in touch with your old book club that needs an excuse to be reunited!

Whether you’ve been searching for the next great read for an existing group, or you’re starting a new one, Hachette have you covered. They recommend a great range of books that will get your whole group having stimulating conversation during your fun catchups.

On the 1st of August and 1st September, GrownUps will publish an article with Hachette’s latest ‘Recommendations for Reading Groups’ titles. You can then enter the monthly competition on GrownUps to be in to win your choice of title for your group (max. 10 books to be won per group) plus a delicious cheese platter to share.

For an extra bit of fun, the winning reading group each month need to send GrownUps a review of their chosen book (can be a group review or a little contribution from each person), plus a photo of their gathering …preferably with the book, wine and cheese in hand! You will then have your reviews and photo published on GrownUps for others to see.
