Train holiday of a Lifetime - The Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin [Winner Announced]

Huge congratulations to L Lecky, who was over the moon when we called to tell her that she had won our $7000 Train Trip of a Lifetime.

Thanks so much to all who entered and we're working hard on securing our next Travel prize.

Picture yourself waking up in the comfort of your own private sleeper cabin, as you draw the blinds to reveal the first rays of morning light touching on the red earth of Central Australia. Or, imagine at night, turning off the cabin lights to enjoy a night sky filled with stars over the moonlit landscape. With time of no consequence, there’s no better way to immerse yourself in the timeless natural beauty of the great southern land, than to experience it on board The Ghan.

More than simply a mode of transport that takes you to your destination, a journey aboard The Ghan becomes an unforgettable holiday experience. As your train weaves through the tapestry of the landscape and its rich palette of colours, others rush to their destination at 35,000 feet above, missing the wonders of the Australian countryside.

Marvel at the spectacular landscapes from fertile countryside surrounding Adelaide to the rusty hues of the Red Centre, onto the tropical splendour of the Top End. The Ghan really is the ultimate journey through the heart of the continent.

For a few hours, leave the train to discover some unique and fascinating sites. Whistle Stop Tours offer a marvellous opportunity to enrich your journey when The Ghan stops in Alice Springs and Katherine. Purchased onboard, these tours provide travellers with the perfect chance to explore more of what this vast country has to offer.

There's no better way to experience the wonder of this wide brown land, than on board one of Australia’s great trains; The Ghan.
