Exploring Australia in a Campervan

Have you ever considered hiring a campervan or motorhome to explore Australia?

Imagine sitting around the campfire after a day of exploring the outback of Australia.  Or perhaps you might be relaxing in your camp chair listening to the crash of waves at one of the many coastal beaches.  Then again, you might be sampling your prize purchase from one of the popular wine regions throughout Australia.












Whichever part of Australia you choose to explore, a campervan is an excellent way to do it.  There are a variety of sizes and styles to choose from, all catering to your individual needs.

While some people choose to buy a campervan or motorhome, most people hire them as they can match the vehicle to the location they are looking to explore.

Having your bed and kitchen on board gives you freedom to stay in some lovely camp areas in amazing locations. 

Most allow campfires, perfect for cooking your baked spuds or to try your hand at camp oven cooking.  The people though are what truly make these evenings memorable.
















We’ve had countless evenings where a character has kept us entertained, sharing stories of their experiences such as rounding up a herd over 300 wild camels in the outback, the best camp fire recipes or other great camping locations.  These experiences are the best way to relax and forget about any ‘real life’ stresses.

Gallivanting Oz would love for you to join us on one of our escorted campervan tours.  We offer tours all over Australia.  Some, like our Queensland Adventure will show you how diverse Australia’s geography and culture can be.  You will see the vast expanse of the outback and how people deal with the challenges of living in such an environment.  The lush pastures of the Atherton Tablelands, the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and then everything that Queensland’s coastline is famous for.  It is rare to experience such variety in any trip!   Your holiday experience couldn’t be easier, and will also give you confidence if you’ve never travelled in a campervan before.  Others love our tours because of the experience – the crackle of the campfire; the laughter of recounted experiences from the day’s adventure; the aroma of delicious dinner cooking in the hot coals.












Whatever your reason for joining us on a campervan adventure you can be sure the in-between bits will be just as memorable as the must-sees.  Personalised escorted tours can also be arranged that can cater for special interests and/or destinations.

We can also assist with a DIY campervan holiday package for exploring Australia if our escorted tour dates aren’t suitable.  Each campervan / motorhome package includes vehicle hire, many popular attractions as well as a map book and suggested itinerary.
