Travel For Solos

TRAVEL FOR SOLOS is a boutique travel company specialising in travel arrangements for solo individuals aged 38+.  We are a fully licensed travel agency (bonded with TAANZ) and have been putting together dream holidays for our valued clients for many years. 

Travel for Solos is a subsidiary of United Travel Cambridge which has been in operation for over 30 years.  Five years ago we recognised a need for a business specialising in holidays for solo travellers.   Some of our single and widowed clients were unable to find friends to travel with, or they had a partner who didn’t like travelling as much as them.  They were open to making new friends and exploring different destinations.  And so Travel for Solos was born.  

Over the years our database has grown to include men and women from all over New Zealand.  We use small-group tour companies who often we know personally and who we know will really look after our clients.  These companies sometimes offer slightly different types of travel, eg. women only tours, comfortable trekking or safari type holidays, or upmarket tours.  When it comes to cruises, we can offer all cruise companies and have been particularly successful in pairing up people for twin, triple or quad share in a cabin to keep their costs down and make new friends.  

We also offer individually designed tailor-made holidays to suit our clients requirements.  We know which tour companies offer the best deals for single travellers and are the first to hear about specials that are released.

Often we see a trend coming through on Membership forms for a certain destination so are able to design our own small-group tour for solos.   












Some of our clients are looking for a travel companion to a selected destination in a certain month.  They can register their details with us and also check on our Find A Companion database for anyone else heading in the same direction.  Once we have checked with both individuals we can put them in touch to meet, chat on the phone or email and see if they suit each other to travel.  We do ask that the travel arrangements are then booked through Travel for Solos.
