This incident took place in July 2007 When my husband and I had our first world trip.
We went to Paris as you do to Pere Lachaisse, which is the famous graveyard in Paris. It covers 17 acres in area and has some real famous graves there including Edith Piaf the singer, Oscar Wilde the writer and Eugene Delacroix who is famous painter whose paintings we saw in the Louvre Museum.
We got there a little late in the day and started to explore the cemetary.
It was so interesting and we lost track of time.
We managed to get ourselves locked in there as they were closing at 6pm, one of the guards told us but neglected to say which entrance to get out of and by the time we had tried one or two and found them all locked we got a bit concerned. My husband and I were with 2 other friends.
We all walked around for ages over a huge area and finally found a lady who led us out, thank heavens for that, we laugh now but didn't know what we would do.
It was't dark so we had some time up our sleeves. We were all wondering what we would do if we couldn't get out, where would we sleep etc. Luckily the weather was good so we were ok in that respect.
So I guess you could say we had a real adventure.
