Skoda will introduce a new bigger and roomier version of its Fabia compact hatchback next year.
The new Fabia is 22mm longer and 47mm taller than the previous model, and offers 300 litres of cargo space with the rear seatbacks up and 1163 litres when they’re folded.
Internationally, Skoda will offer seven engines in the new Fabia, four petrol and three diesel, ranging in size from 1200 to 1900cc.
The new Fabias will have dual front and side airbags, and curtain side airbags.
For the first time a six-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission will be available as an option.
Electronically controlled climatronic air conditioning and an MP3/iPod compatible stereo are also on the options list.
Full New Zealand model and specification details will be made available closer to the Fabia’s New Zealand launch date in October, 2007.
