What is the Control Panel?
The Control Panel has been a fixture of Windows since Windows 95 appeared on the scene almost a decade ago. It's undergone some changes, especially with the advent of Windows XP, but its core functions remain the same: It provides a central access point for most of the settings and adjustments for Windows and Internet Explorer. From the Control Panel you can change everything from how quickly your mouse moves around the screen to the sounds Windows makes when you start it up.
