The sheep in the paddock I thought I would scatter.
They all eyed me coldly as if I didn't matter.
When they advanced I turned on my tail...
And when they all chased, I really set sail.
There's a Law, so they tell me, that all dogs must keep -
Thou shalt never, not ever, chase after the sheep!
This seems so unfair, I'm so small, as you see -
How come the Law lets sheep chase after ME.

Yep, MaryLouise, it did. Even sadder - he was also terrorised by a rooster!! Country life was not for him. Countrylass
Each morning I walk past a farm fence with my bull terrier X, often a sheep will stomp toward her to intimidate but it never works, even the odd Pukeko tries it on.

After reading your little poem again, this time the part about the rooster I've decided to hunt through my stache for a photo of our little cat actually smooching ...with our bantam rooster... they were the best of mates. I'll probably put it as a new article after Christmas now.
