Tribute to Sparrow7

Tributes for Sparrow7

Seasons may come and seasons may go
But always I will treasure my friendship with Sparrow,
Her wonderful smile and her eyes of blue
Her positive attitude and a heart so true,
Although she has been taken above
I will always remember her with love.
I am thankful that you were part of my life,
Be at peace now

Mamamia

A tiny bird came into my life.  Not your usual insignificant sparrow......nay...this was the brightest, sassiest, cheekiest Sparrow that I have ever come across. There was never a dull moment with this delightful bird. Her life was not an easy one but she never complained, just taught others  about getting on and enjoying every day. I miss her daily calls, her laugh, her spelling on chat!!! I'm glad you had wings before you went to heaven Sparrow, a sure sign that you were an Angel here on earth. I love you.

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away
And although we love you dearly
We could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Miss you so much, dear Sparrow.
Love forever from Floosie

Sparrow. She was a remarkable lady, with a heart of gold. Who had so many friends, yet she made you feel like you were the only person that mattered. I only knew her a short time, but felt I had known her a life time. Sparrow was, and still is, a great inspiration to me.

When she reached the end of her journey, and the Lord invited her in to his House - he had no idea what He was letting Himself in for. Heaven will never be the same again!! Fly free my friend.

What a privelage it was to be counted among the friends of sparrow7. As one of the original members of Marriane's gang along with her, I would like to say  that she was an incredibly valued part of our sessions and also of my personal life as time went by.  I am and always will be grateful for the chance of meeting and getting to know such a wonderful individual. "Fly on Gods Angel".

The First time I met Sparrow she was wearing a glittery mask with purple feathers and a very long nose. She had the original Marianne’s gang in fits of laughter all day, even more so because she had forgotten her hearing aid and kept mistaking the conversation. Our Sparrow (she was quick to belong to all of us) was a delight to know. She never complained about anything, always had a sparkle in her eye and a wit that kept us on our toes. I’ll never forget the time she picked up my sunglasses then, laughing, watched LadyP and me rummaging through the rubbish bags looking for them.

I knew her for less than a year, but she was in my heart. I was so glad that I went to her home and saw her before she passed, and I am fortunate to call her my friend. I will miss her, but she is in a better place and when my mind is still I will know when she is here: cracking her jokes and spreading her love. Sparrow we will miss you, but always remember you with love.

I was lucky to have met Sparrow, at the very first "meet", we had in Wellington....She had organised with Rustyas to surprise us... She had come down from Auckland to visit a friend,  and came to meet us as well.  What a wonderful lady..I, and I think everyone who met her, felt we had known her for ages. She was just like that...

Many e-mails followed that meeting, always able to make me laugh.. And, now when I think of her, she always put others first, regardless of her own health..That, is a lesson we all could take from this dear lady, who was so small in stature, but so large in heart.

Rest easy now sparrow... God Bless.....

Pictures of the gang on line  –   always the class clown.

In the chatroom  – cheeky banter – what spelling?

Then just one meeting face to face – as if she was MY very special friend

And texts and emails, once a phone call  .  .  .  .  .

To meet again – just before her birthday.

But 'twas not to be . . . . .

Missing from the chatroom

Where had she got to?

And then it was too late.

Good-bye dear Sparrow.

I treasure the memory of our brief friendship.

With love

Froda

I got to meet Sparrow once. Here in Wellington and after the meeting I thought I knew her a life time.

We use to txt each other or ring. And was thinking of meeting up with her but she became sick and ended up in Hospital. At the beginning of this year I think.

I really thought she was a sweety who got on with everyone here in GrownUps.

It was so sad to hear that she had passed away. There will be a BIG hole left where she use to hang out, with the Marianne's group.

Although I never met Sparrow, I felt I knew her through GrownUps. Her bright bubbly personallity shone through during chats online. She will be sadly missed...fly free dear Sparrow.

Sparrow7 - In the Chatroom

You were the flitting little bird,
Darting from one conversation to the next,
Drawing laughter, respect, and love.

You always had such charm,
We all felt we were important to you,
Accepting each one of us despite our foibles and moods.

It was as if you had known us all our lives,
Yet even that, if it were so,
Would not have been long enough to satisfy.

You had us all constantly spellbound,
By sharing with us your love of people,
Your joy of life, and your sense of humour.

Your last visit here was so brave,
Enduring discomfort and pain,
With the same indomitable courage as always,
Even though you knew it was Goodbye Gups50+

Thank you Sparrow for being you and enriching our lives.

Love from Rata & all your Chatroom Friends

by Mamamia 30th July 2009 Thank you Dave, Richard and Grownups for putting this wonderful Tribute in for Sparrow, she would be so proud :)
by Tulip123 9th August 2009 This was sad to read but also very touching that someone as special as Sparrow touched so many people in a special positive way. I only met her twice but felt she knew and accepted me in a way that many other people often don't. She taught everyone she met a lot about life
by MaryLouise 7th December 2009 I have only just read about "Sparrow" today...What a beautiful person she sounds. The caring and feeling that is shared out by all of you towards this little lady as she so obviously shared herself with you is so Special...bought tears to my eyes...I have not known her but would it be possible for these comments (obituaries) be printed out by our Editor or someone who has family details and send to her family... I am sure they would be treasured...and after all we're told 'that love makes the world a better place' Bless you little Sparrow.
