This Poem of Hope by Pealdiver was written for all those who have suffered from the Lyttleton and Christchurch NZ Earthquake on 22 – 02 – 2011 and there after. The whole world shares this tragedy with everyone throughout this Southern Land, all locals and visitors alike; all whom have had their lives interrupted in someway by mother nature. And for the families of every person who came from another land to become part of this country's history; know that we as New Zealanders, will always honour and hold them in our hearts as if they are our own. Be strong and go on together. Take Care.

'Ode To Canterbury'
-----------------------------
Within this forest
Of our mankind
Let us always notice
Know and learn to respect
The important of each
Life giving tree
In it’s own unique
And integral oneness
Shared not in vain
Those shadows cast
Collectively and by each
Heartbeat bruised
Or broken by life lost
=+=
May we always
Love and hope
That our forest shares
Our boundless love fully
Before time, or sharp axes
Strike down the greatness
Of this collective presence
Of all lives here known
And those we will always
Love and remember
On nor-west breezes blown
In Canterbury
=+=
Before sadly leaving
Here, with earth shaken
Yet never to lose
Relevance or hope
To fading recollection
Of those who passed here
Or were roughly felled
Prematurely, by the depth
Of every void felt
By all of us within our forest
We who are left
We who are, still standing
Here in time and yet to pass
=+=
Left here, beyond you
In pain and sadness
Unable to ever match
That greatness gone
Your beauty scarred
Your uniqueness lost
By those degrees of time
Hope and shadow-less grief
That will naturally dictate
We are one, as each
And one, as mankind’s forest
Destined to never know
Or to gladly measure
Our time in this forest
