Welcome Mynda Mansfield

Mynda Mansfield was born and raised in South Africa during the time of British colonialism. She witnessed the changes that the country went through, from the unilateral declaration of independence, through the establishment and iron rule of the Apartheid government, the miraculous release of Nelson Mandela and the transformation that resulted in him being elected to lead the country to a new dawn.

Mynda’s primary career has been in education and she has worked as a specialist teacher in the Rudolf Steiner (Waldorf) school system for many years, serving in leadership roles and taking on the position of principal of the Hamilton school. Mynda is passionate about this system of education as it encompasses the development of the whole child and acknowledges the spiritual component as primary.

Utilizing her talent and her training in creative writing, Mynda has developed as secondary career as a freelance writer. She writes for many publications, both national and international on a wide range of topics, and is a regular columnist with Hamilton Press. The focus of this column is on developing the consciousness and practice of the spiritual life, a matter that Mynda regards as the primary purpose for being on earth.

Mynda’s spiritual journey has been a process of awakening to the truth of Divine Identity. This process has taken her through the study and practice of many formal religions and philosophies and those schools of thought which seek to awaken the consciousness of the universality of all human beings. The choices she made along the way have been motivated by a search for that which unifies mankind, rather than that which separates one individual or group from another.

Having welcomed the changes in the South African political situation and having been delighted to play their parts in the formation of the new ‘rainbow nation’, Mynda and her husband finally chose to leave South Africa after some traumatic near-fatal incidents in crime-ridden Johannesburg. They lived with their two children in Germany for some years before immigrating to New Zealand in 2001. They are now New Zealand citizens and proud and thankful to be so.

by toodgs 22nd June 2009 Really I have met some interesting people and read some informative and stimulating articles on grown ups, why oh why are we now to be afflicted with the imaginary friend syndrome? There is absolutely no evidence for any spirituality, no evidence for any form of divine being, and the bible is patently the ravings of a group of self interested parasites written in a deliberately vagure manner with the thought in mind that if you are going to tell lies then never be specefic about anything. I leave you with quote from Nietzsche: "Even with the most modest claim to integrity one must know today that a theologin a priest a pope does not merely err in every sentence he speaks, he lies". There are places for this rubbish let it be put there and kept there. Regards Malcolm Hovey
by Kenmac 22nd June 2009 Dear Toodgs You seem to be a very erudite person. To postulate should therefore be well within your grasp. Just for now (I know you can do it), imagine you are wrong in what you say. The bible (I know you don't like it) declares that those who are unsaved will go to a place called hell. The bible describes hell as a place of great torment where lost souls will go FOR EVER (eternity). Imagine (just for now) that this is true. Would you really want to take that chance without having diligently researched the facts? Once in hell there is no turning back (the bible says so, very clearly, not vaugely). Imagine coming to that realisation when it is too late?? Do you really want to take that chance?? I would think not. You seem of too high an intellect to allow that to happen. Blessings, Ken McLaggan
by toodgs 22nd June 2009 Thank you for your blessings Ken and I accept the blessings of your loving and caring god also the collection of short essays you base your suppositions on is the selectively collected thoughts of intelligent but profoundly ignorant men. It is a jumble of contradictions from the very start and has more murder and mayhem in the imaginary friends name than a dick Tracy novel but probably less basis in reality. Empirical evidence is whats needed here Ken if you hyavent got any then why argue regards Malcolm Hovey
by Kenmac 22nd June 2009 Bless you Malcolm. Please give me ONE (that is all I ask) contradiction in a God inspired book written by 40 authors over hundreds of years (that is amazing in itself) and you will have made your point. You see, when something is inspired by God, you don't need to be anyone special to record the facts. Do you know how many folk have embarked on a journey to disprove the Bible, only to become awe inpired admirers of its magnificence. This is not an argument, rather a debate. Please don't forget to supply that contradiction. Blessings, Ken
by atcs 23rd June 2009 Hi Malcolm As is said "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still "but I believe sincerely that 'searching for Truth' is part of the human condition I am sure there will be a lot of "Grown Ups" praying for you and I know that their prayers will be answered one way or another. That is just one of the many joys & feelings of peace that I have because I do believe that there is a loving God. Anne
by Artemis 18th August 2009 Always looking upwards and awaiting His return. Hi Anne and Ken. Artemis
by Olegas 18th August 2009 Dear Mr. Malcolm Hovey: I do understand where you are coming from - but I cannot agree with you. I believe that all unsavoury problems of human interaction today result from a lack of knowledge of the Holy Bible. Even you err in your deduction. How may the Holy Bible have been written "by a group of self-interested parasites"? As far as I am aware none of the writers were ever paid for their writings - and none of the Books show any indication of "self-interest" for the author. I believe that the principal theme of our Holy Bible is to demonstrate how human beings may live together in peace and harmony. I believe that every human being needs a mentor: for me the Mentor is God and His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Do you not find it ironic and incongruous that, while we are urged to be sensitive of Hindi, Islam and Muslim: we are not similarly urged to be sensitive of Christinas?
