Introducing Eugene Moreau

Read Eugene's blog and articles here.

When I was 14 years old I stood in front of an audience of about 250 people and delivered my very first public speech. In many ways I had been preparing for that moment since I was 10 years old.

For as long as I can remember I have had a fascination with the art of standing in front of an audience and speaking. I would actually go to sleep at night listening to my dad’s old reel-to-reel tapes of preachers at conferences. Sometimes I would study the way they delivered a subject and other times I would dissect the message itself to see how they structured it.

Well, I would like to say my first time was the stuff movies were made of - you know, genius kid wow’s the audience into raptures of applause…… I would like to say that it was an outrageous success. I would like to say I had a standing ovation.

I would like to say these things but I can’t. It would be both insulting to your intelligence and a quick lesson in how to destroy my credibility…all in one easy step.

The truth of the matter is…… my first time standing in front of an audience lasted about seven minutes and was an absolute failure.  As I sat down to the last thing a speaker wants to hear (the polite ‘feel sorry for the poor bloke’ hand claps) my dad leaned over and patted my knee and said, “Don’t worry son. It’s get better with time and practice.”  He was right.

Here I am, 34 years later and able to stand and talk for seven hours with seven bullet points……and keep an audience with me all the way.

Some people are gifted at arranging numbers and solving financial problems in companies. Others have the gift of managing processes and extracting the very last essence of value from it. I have been gifted with the talent of standing in front of people and speaking with passion and skill - and with this talent has also come an ability to accomplish three outcomes:

1. Unlocking Vision.

2. Inspiring Passion.

3. Leading Transformation.

My column is dedicated to helping people accomplish these outcomes.

I believe that every person has within them a dream that if unlocked and released, can bring about a more vibrant and healthy world. The problem is, most people do not know how to unlock their dream.

It is my mission to take this talent I have been blessed with, and to unlock as many dreams in as many people as I can and then to inspire them to pursue them with a driving passion and to sustain their journey through transformation.

Every book I write, and every seminar I deliver, will serve this purpose of unlocking vision and inspiring passion and leading transformation in as many people as I can.

For the last 30 years I have worked with people of all ages in the areas of leadership, business development, relationship management, vision, strategy, transitioning and presentation skills.

I have had the honour of facilitating a number of projects and assignments that have taken me to a range of countries (USA, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, Bahrain, Singapore, UK and Australia).

In 2004 I decided to become a certified in the art of coaching and was privileged to spend one week, one-on-one, with Dr Suzanne Skiffington, the founder of the Behavioural Coaching Institute of Australia in Sydney. The result…… I am a Certified Master Coach.

In the last 10 years I have worked with several inspirational and gifted CEOs in projects that range from one-on-one coaching in presentation skills, to developing comprehensive business strategies for multi nationals, to being a transition catalyst for a nationwide franchise brand, to the creation of a leadership training school for a national risk management firm.

My driving passion is to help people of all ages achieve meaningful transformation and growth in their life.

Well, that’s enough about me. I trust you enjoy my articles and that the words written will unlock, inspire and help lead you into a life transforming season.

Eugene Moreau
