Meet Margaretha

Retired New Zealand publisher, Margaretha Western has travelled to numerous countries - in - North & South America, Asia, Europe, Africa Australia, The Pacific and throughout New Zealand.

Born and educated in Europe, she immigrated to New Zealand as a 21-year old, against the wishes of her parents, who stated that Maoris lived in caves and were cannibals!

Convinced she had found her "Utopia" she married a Kiwi and with him, built-up and owned import/wholesale companies in musical instruments and later diamonds and jewellery.

On her own again, she bought up magazines after the 1987 share market crash, building up a successful publishing company and followed numerous courses at Auckland University.

Following extensive travel for many years, during which time she owned several diverse companies, such as a garage/workshop, a home redecorating company and a bistro, she settled down on Auckland's North Shore.

During the New Zealand summer and autumn, she enjoys her home overlooking the Hibiscus Coast and the Gulf, writing articles for several UK, USA and Australian magazines. From May onwards, she disappears each year during the winter months to enjoy warmer climes and further travel adventures.
