Jill Malcolm is a magazine editor who has worked on the Air New Zealand Inflight magazine, AA Traveller, Third Age, Motorhomes, Caravans and Destinations and three smaller titles. She is the author of five books. These include two travel narratives - At Home on the Road (winner of the New Zealand Travel Writer’s Award 2003) and An Absolutely Outrageous Adventure; two books on New Zealand accommodation –Top Ten Lodges of New Zealand and Boutique Lodgings of New Zealand Her latest book is The Great Kiwi Motorhome Guide, published in 2011.
A former judge for both the New Zealand and the Australian Travel Writers’ awards, Jill was a co-founder of the New Zealand Travel Communicators Association and president of that organisation for four years. For the past ten years she has tutored in writing at the University of Auckland Continuing Education programme and now takes writing workshops at various venues around New Zealand. When not on the road in a motorhome or travelling in foreign fields, Jill lives with her photographer husband Bill Savidan on Auckland’s North Shore.
