While cleaning out the garage, I came across the following. Not sure of the age, but it came from my father some fifty years ago

Rent Pay next week
Mid week beer 3s 3p
Coal Borrow neighbours
Burial club (for wife) 1s
Dog's food 3s
Holiday Club 1s
3 o'clock certainty 1s
More beer 1s 9p
Tobacco 4s
Total 1.11.6

This means going into debt, so cut out wife's beer.
