Create your Dream Wardrobe with HomePlus

For a typical walk-in wardrobe estimate two thirds of the Wardrobe space to be for the woman of the house and the remaining third of the space of be for the man.  Here are the things to consider when thinking of getting a new Wardrobe:

How much Long Hang do I require?

A typical woman’s wardrobe needs no more than 600mm of Long Hang for long dresses and coats and a typical mans wardrobe does not need Long Hang unless he hangs he pants by the cuff.  A typical child’s wardrobe does not require Long Hang unless they are a teenage girl.  Long Hang is the least used part of the wardrobe so should be in the least convenient area of the wardrobe, behind a door or in the back corner.

How many Shelf Towers do I need?

Plan for at least 2 shelf Towers for a woman’s wardrobe, one with drawers for smalls and one for Shoes.   Use only one shelf Tower for a mans wardrobe for folded clothes and shoes.  Children probably require as many Tower sections as hanging sections for folded clothes and toys.  Avoid having shelf/drawer towers in corners, hanging areas are best for corners.

What about the rest of the Wardrobe?

Once the Long Hang and Tower sections are planned fill in the rest of the wall space with Double Hang sections in the corner then accessorise with drawers, doors, baskets, tie/belt racks, shoe racks, hampers and jewelry inserts etc…
