Rain,dancing lightly as transparent lace,
Brushing hem o'er earths grimed face,
Trickles cross road and down paving crack,
Into gutter and gulley trap,
Along the ditch and winding creek,
Thence to stream and river deep,
Rumbling, tumbling, into oceans run,
There, tossed by wind and warmed by sun
Each drop doth rise by invisible carriage,
To join once more in heavenly marriage,
Where, with cymbols crashing, torches flashing,
The whole tumultus crowd goes dashing
Across the heavens open frame,
To start the dancing once again, and again, and again.
