There comes a time when you just want to add something to your garden other than plants. Today the choices are endless, you can choose anything from pots and containers to water features, wall plaques, furniture, carvings and sculptures, lighting and heating options to create focal points in your outdoor haven.

The key in choosing what to have is understanding what you want to achieve. If you want to highlight a certain area of the garden add a feature of some sort. If you want to draw your attention away from an undesirable part of the garden place a feature well away from what you want to hide.

Safety and maintenance are other things to consider, if you are looking at water features for example remember to be aware of the volume of water that your feature may have and access that children may have to it. Also checkout our article on "The Intelligent use of Garden Art"
