Learn to play the piano or guitar in a relaxed atmosphere where learning is fun.
Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar or piano but just haven’t had the time or energy? Or maybe you learnt as a child or young adult and would love to be able to play those pieces you once played. Do you still enjoy singing the old sing-a-long songs but wish you could accompany yourself? Now is the time to do those things you’ve always said “one day” to.
My name is Phillipa and I am an experienced guitar and piano teacher based in Massey, West Auckland (near Westgate shopping centre) and I am offering lessons to people of all ages.
I have pupils ranging in age from 9 to 65 and I believe that learning the piano and guitar should be fun and rewarding.
I understand the challenges my “more mature” students face when learning and have found a way of teaching that works for each individual pupil.
I believe it’s never too late to learn (or re-learn) an instrument. My parents were still playing the piano in their 80’s! The joy of music is available for all ages. Lessons cost $25.00 per half hour and $50.00 per hour. I’ve found that a 30 min lesson is best for under 20 year olds and 45mins ($35.00) is better for others.
Learning piano was always an out of reach thing for me, something that was great for the kids, but then I started to learn a bit about music and when I was prompted to have a go at learning to play the piano I made a move.
It has had its moments, being a total beginner at my age (I started lessons 3 years ago at 62) but having a teacher who knows just how to move you on to the next step is a bonus.
Phillipa is amazingly patient and keeps encouraging me. Learning piano is pleasant and it's stretching me.
I believe I am getting somewhere with it. Jenny

I would love to recommend Phillipa as the ideal person to teach the piano to people of all ages.
I am 64 years young and decided to take up piano lessons again after 25 years. I could only play classical music, reading from sheet music but always wanted to learn to play by chords.
Since starting my lessons with Phillipa I have come on with leaps and bounds and enjoy these lessons immensely.
