Increase quantities as required for more servings but don’t overdo spices.
2 lamb shanks
1 onion
1 carrot
1 can chopped tomatoes (flavoured if you prefer)
Garlic clove or garlic salt
½ tsp Paprika
¼ tsp Ginger (optional)
½ tsp mixed herbs
1 or 2 bay leaves
Sprig Rosemary
Dessertspoon Worcester Sauce
Dessertspoon Soy Sauce
METHOD:
Peel the onions – chop them up
Add the carrots – about a cup
Add the garlic to the pan
Just a little – that’s the plan
Fry them in a little oil
Not too hot or they will spoil
Put some flour into a bowl
Add the spices to give it soul
Paprika, ginger (just a smidgen)
The fragrance will surround your kitchen
A bay leaf and a rosemary sprig
(Doesn’t have to be too big)
Stir in the sauces dark and brown
Add tinned tomatoes, stir all round.
Now, in the crock pot put the meat
Have it set on moderate heat
Now add the mix of herbs and flavours
And voila – you’ll have a meal to savour.
