Ingredients
Sift into a large bowl:
1.75 cups self rising flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup Cocoa
Add 1.5 cups Castor Sugar
To the dry ingredients add:
115g melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs unbeaten
2/3 cups milk
Method:
Beat altogether at a low speed for 3 minutes. Bake at 180C for 25 minutes. Turn oven off for further 25 minutes.
To make this look really impressive use a few tricks of the trade:
1) Smother with rich chocolate icing sugar.
2) Make chocolate flakes (done by melting some chocolate and then pouring on a sheet of baking paper to dry thin and flat, when hard create chocolate peices in whatever shape you see fit , cement into cake by using icing as a type of glue.
3) Finally a sprinkling of icing sugar gives an all round decadent finnish.
