I count colours in the rainbow
drink in the scented air,
of fragrant citrus blossoms
sometimes feeling you are near.
But when I softly call your name
my tears they start to flow,
as when i turn, there's no one there,
why did you have to go?I walk beside the river
watch the lazy way it flows,
around the bend to who knows where
the lazy river goes.
Then memories flood my troubled mind
they're all i have you know,
special times we had together,
why did you have to go?I've seen you in my restless dreams
as clearly as can be,
and open up my empty arms
as you call out to me.
But when I reach you darling
you turn around so slow,
my dream is now a nightmare,
why did you have to go.
In memory of our son
