How can I tell her what I want to say?
The sadness I'm feeling this first Mothers Day.
No card to be sent and no gift to be wrapped.
This Mothers Day's empty; how will I adapt?
Last year I rang her, told her of my love.
And whispered a prayer to my Father above
"Watch over her, keep her, while I am away.
And I shall be with her next Mothers Day".
And now I am home, but my Mum is not here.
For my Heavenly Father has heeded my prayer.
She was tired and weary so He called her away
And she's safe in His presence this Mother's Day.
So I'll just put her gift up here on the shelf
I know she'd have loved it for I made it myself
I'll attach a wee card and all it will say
Is 'Dear Mum, I am missing you this Mothers Day'.
