Before my life is through
I must compose a symphony
to heal life’s pain
and set my spirit free.
So bear with me
for you’re my inspiration
I’ll write the notes
please hum them back to me.
Exploring every
positive emotion
splash liquid notes
across a rainbow stave
a brilliant flash
to justify existence
my imprint, to echo
long beyond the grave.
Then when the long
grey shadows deepen
slowly blotting
out the light
the vibrant melody
will guide my journey
as I drift off
on final flight.
