OURS® is made by me, a New Zealand Mum, Emma Heke, because I couldn’t find many DVDs I was happy to have my little son watch…so with a lot of hard work, skill and Kiwi ingenuity I decided to make one! I’ve funded, filmed, edited and produced it myself and the final product is highly regarded nationwide.  

I travelled all over NZ, from Invercargill to Northland filming our native creatures, unique geological areas and young children doing things to save the environment. The result is 55 topics on OURS® with stunning photography and voiceover narration that appeals to children and teaches them a lot and aims to foster a love of our land, creatures and environment. It’s structured by the ALPHABET too and you’ll soon hear the young ones telling you that “Ancient” and “Autumn” begin with the letter “A”!!  OURS® respects our children’s intelligence and doesn’t talk down to them.

One of the best things I’ve heard a lot of, in feedback, is that children are nice and calm after watching OURS®  and also talk about it afterwards and ask questions to extend their learning.
