They say that time heals
that's what they say,
and give you advice
in their know it all way.
But how can they know
if they've not
lost a child,
and dealt with the
heartache that
greets you each day.
They say the pain lessens
as time moves along,
you've got to keep going
you have to be strong.
But how can they know
if they've not
lost a child,
nor burst into tears
at the sound of a song.
They say to move on
make an effort to blend,
snap out of your sorrow
this isn't the end.
But how can they know
if they've not
lost a child,
it isn't their heart
that refuses to mend.
They say that i've changed
those words are so true,
no longer sought after
as company too.
But how can they know
if they've not
lost a child,
and felt raw emotion
Bereaved parents do.
